Free Classes Offered at the Family History Library—May, 2014

If you are planning on visiting Salt Lake City, Utah during the month of May, you may want to plan some time to come visit the Family History Library across from Temple Square. The Family History Library is offering several free classes during the month of May. Classes are free to the public. Below is information about topics, times and locations. 

Huguenot Research Series
On Saturday, May 3, 2014, the Family History Library is offering a series of classes on Huguenot research. The topics include “Huguenots in France,” “Huguenots in the Netherlands and South Africa,” “Huguenots in Germany and Switzerland,” “Huguenots in Great Britain, Ireland, and the West Indies,” and “Huguenots in the United States.” These classes will run from 9:15 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and will be held in the Relief Society Room of the Joseph Smith Memorial Building.
Class for Spanish Speaking Patrons
On Saturday, May 3, 2014, the Family History Library is offering a course for Spanish-speaking patrons entitled “Tesoros Ocultos en los Registros Originales.” This class begins at 1:00 p.m.
German Research Series
On Saturday, May 10, 2014, the Family History Library is offering a series of classes on German research. The topics include “Learning to Read Old German Handwriting,” and “Extracting Info from German Church and Civil Records.” Classes will run from 9:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
Swedish Research Series
On Saturday, May 10, 2014, the Family History Library is offering a series of classes on Swedish Research. The topics include “Immigration,” “Moving and Migration within the Kingdom of Sweden,” and “Swedish Research in Cities.” These classes will run from 9:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
Mid-Atlantic States Research Series
On Saturday, May 10, 2014, the Family History Library is offering a series of classes on Mid-Atlantic States research. The topics include “New Jersey,” “New York,” and “Pennsylvania.” These classes will run from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Class for Spanish Speaking Patrons
On Saturday, May 17, 2014, the Family History Library is offering a course for Spanish-speaking patrons entitled “¿No Hay Otros Registros?” This 90-minute class begins at 1:00 p.m.
