Orem Family History Processing Center

The following is from FamilySearch.

The FamilySearch Dept. has opened a new missionary/family history processing facility in Orem and they are looking for church service missionaries to staff it.

They are looking for those with the following skills:

  • Ability to do detailed, repetitive work on a computer experience with computers using Microsoft XP
  • Willingness to learn
  • Problem solving skills 
  • Sufficient health/ability to sit at a computer 5-8 hrs/day 
  • Helpful to have a working knowledge of Excel

The work involves working on special projects, missing ordinances, improving data quality, completeness checks, etc. Such as:

  • Search for and compile info on deceased famous people 
  • Reservation list analyses 
  • Monitor FamilySearch Forums 
  • Work with Holocaust Searches Identify and remove inappropriate names from FamilySearch files
  • Search and identify pre-1500, pre-200 & Biblical era individuals 
  • Clean up early Church leader records 
  • Combine completed ordinances and make the database more accurate and easy to use.
