The Life of James E. Talmage

James E. Talmage was a scholar and author of many books of interest on LDS Church concepts. Some were “Jesus the Christ”, ”Articles of Faith”, “Kingdom of God”, ”Earth and Man”, and ”The Great Apostasy.

Calvin R. Stephens retired from teaching for the Church Educational System as an instructor at the Ogden LDS Institute of Religion after 37 years, including 12 years as a writer and manager for College Curriculum and an instructor at the BYU Jerusalem Center. ( He says he is a happy man).
Brother Stephens graduated from Weber State College and Brigham Young University. Currently he serves on the Materials and Evaluation Committee. Other Church service includes a mission president, first counselor in a stake presidency and a bishop. He is a native of Morgan, Utah where he has resided all of his life. He is married to the former Lynette Davis. They are the parents of 4 children and 7 grandchildren.
