Notable collection updates include the 4,140,062 images from the new U.S., Vermont, St. Albans Canadian Border Crossings, 1895–1924, collection; the 900,127 indexed records from the Peru, Lima, Civil Registration, 1874–1996, collection; and the 718,769 images from the United States, Passport Applications, 1795–1925, collection. Searchable historic records are made available on FamilySearch.org through the help of thousands of volunteers from around the world. These volunteers transcribe (index) information from digital copies of handwritten records to make them easily searchable online.
