Mobile App
Plan your conference experience today by downloading the RootsTech 2017 mobile app at the App Store or Google Play. In the app, you can find your sessions, create your conference schedule, view maps of the venue and expo hall, and see a full listing of conference speakers.
RootsTech Sessions Begin Wednesday
Attend your first session on Wednesday, February 8, starting at 3:00 p.m. The final session of the conference will end on Saturday, February 11, at 3:00 p.m.Wednesday session are available only to RootsTech and RootsTech plus Innovator Summit pass holders.

Getting Started Sessions
Getting Started sessions officially begin on Thursday, February 9. Getting Started sessions are available only to Getting Started one-day and three-day pass holders.
RootsTech 2017 Expo Hall
The RootsTech 2017 Expo Hall is even bigger than last year. There will be hundreds of exhibitors and interactive booths to help you in your journey to discover, preserve, and share family connections, stories, and memories. Get familiar with the layout and the exhibitors by visiting the Expo Hall page on RootsTech.org.
Below are the Expo Hall hours during the conference:
- Thursday, February 9—10:00 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Friday, February 10—10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
- Saturday, February 11—10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Check-In Information
RootsTech Conference check-in will take place at the registration area in the south lobby of the Salt Palace Convention Center. At check-in, you will receive your badge, a conference bag, and other essential conference materials. A photo ID is required. To avoid long lines, come at your earliest convenience. The check-in station will be open during the following hours:
- Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday—7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Saturday—7:00 a.m to 3:00 p.m.
RootsTech Conference Parking
There are two convenient underground parking garages available at the Salt Palace Convention Center. Parking is $12–18 per day. There are several less expensive parking lots in downtown Salt Lake City within easy walking distance. The parking lot just north of South Temple Street, between 200 West and 300 West, charges $3–5 per day. Additional parking is available at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building for $10 per day and at City Creek Center for an hourly rate.
Public Transportation
Salt Lake City offers several transportation options, making your travel to, from, and throughout Salt Lake City convenient. Visit RideUTA.com for transportation options. |

| Sponsored lunches are a great way to maximize your conference experience. Lunches are an optional, paid event for RootsTech attendees. Seating is limited, and tickets are required. Computer Lab Seats Still Available
|
| There are seats still available in computer labs. Get hands-on tutorials on topics such as photo editing, social media tools, DNA research, and successful searching. Seating in the computer labs is limited and requires pre-registration. The cost to attend a computer lab is $19. |
