Charting Companion Announces New DNA Matrix Chart

The following is from Progeny Genealogy.

CHARTING COMPANION ANNOUNCES

NEW DNA MATRIX CHART

Charting Companion announces a new chart: the DNA Matrix (aka "McGuire Method").
Genetic research offers new ways for genealogists to build their family tree, where conventional records and sources are not available.
Genealogists are submitting DNA samples to testing companies who can identify distinctive patterns in the DNA, and match the genealogist to millions of other participants.
Adoptees are using DNA to search for biological parents. Distant cousins and other relatives can contribute to your tree by providing information on branches where they have more research than you do.
The DNA Matrix helps you by showing an overview of DNA matches in a clear, simple chart. Charting Companion can also "validate" your tree by comparing actual DNA test results, against the number expected from the relationships. Are there surprises in your tree? Click for more detail.

Charting Companion works with all genealogy programs: Family Tree Maker, RootsMagic, Legacy, Ancestral Quest, Family Historian, GEDCOM, etc.

3D Print Your Family Tree

The following is from Progeny Genealogy.

PRINT YOUR FAMILY TREE ON A 3D PRINTER

3D printers use melted plastic or fused resin to create objects in every shape imaginable. 3D printers are becoming popular as the technology improves and prices come down.

Charting Companion now includes an option to output Ancestor and Descendant Fan charts as "STL" files, which can be fed to 3D printers for printing as physical objects.

3D printers range in size and price from small, desk-top units, to large industrial machines. Schools and libraries are now offering 3D printing facilities. 3Dhubs.com is a network of 3D print shops all over the World where you can email your 3D print file, and receive a fabricated piece in a few days.

3D printing is still in its infancy. Low-cost desktop units have a low resolution and small base plate size. Finer resolution and larger pieces require high-end, industrial-grade machines. 3D printers aimed at the consumer market are limited to three-generations Fan charts. A five-generation Fan chart is best done with 8" diameter.

Get  Charting Companion today. A 3D printed family tree lasts forever, and makes a great gift idea. Share your story with your family and friends.

Charting Companion charts will make you a hit with your relatives, and the star of your next family reunion.

Charts for Family Tree Maker users

The following is from Progeny Software.

ANCESTRY DROPPING FTM - GET YOUR CHARTS FROM CHARTING COMPANION

As you may have heard, Ancestry.com is discontinuing Family Tree Maker.

Ancestry will support Family Tree Maker throughout 2016. After that, FTM will continue to run as long as Windows does not introduce any incompatibilities.

Many FTM users, who prefer a desktop program, are wondering whether they will be able to create charts & books, should they switch to another genealogy program.

Others, who will be converting to the on-line Ancestry family trees, have observed that Ancestry does not provide the variety of charts they have come to depend on to share their story with their family.

Progeny has a solution for both cases: Charting Companion, Genelines and Map My Family Tree provide you with a comprehensive range of ways to publish your family history.

Charting Companion reads the database format of all popular genealogy programs. If your tree is on Ancestry, download a GEDCOM to create charts.

Get Charting Companion today for $34.95 download, $39.95 CD-ROM. Tell the glorious story of your family.
