My friend Jackie Bergstrom just sent me the url to a site that shows a slide presentation of all the LDS temples in the order they were dedicated. I thought some of you might like to see this site too. http://www.ldschurchtemples.com/slideshow/
Whenever I receive a link to a great website I always go poking around to see what else they have on their site. The main page is www.ldschurchtemples.com . This site is really great for giving you photographs of the temples. You also can find out news, schedules and interesting facts about the temples. I had once been looking for some great photographs of the Mount Timpanogos temple and found a lovely night scene off this site. I just could never remember where I got it from. I have it as my desktop wallpaper. Check the download link for great screensavers and wallpapers.
I was able to use the Chronological list of LDS Temples to fix my New FamilySearch Roll-out spreadsheet. I knew I had 1 more temple district on the spreadsheet than currently operating. Now that is all fixed I have 126 working temples. I emailed the webmaster of the LDSChurchTemple.com site and told him the only thing he needed to add was a list of all the temples live with NFS. I sent him my link and I wonder if he will add it?

Monster Obituaries
I was just reading this article "Monster founder sets sights on online obits" and thought you might be interested in it. Monster founder, Jeff Taylor, has just created http://Tributes.com. I think it's a fantastic idea to spread technology into our access to free obituaries. The site will be funded by ads and I don't mind seeing ads if I have free access to content.
Taylor saw the need out of people living further from home and their desire to be notified when someone from their hometown dies. The obituaries will be gathered from funeral homes, organizations, even the Social Security Administration. You can sign into the site and set email alerts for locations, family, schools, military or professions. Tributes will send you a notification when someone you know from these groups passes away.
I visited http://Tributes.com and set a few alerts that I am interested in. Then I played around and found older content on the site. Meaning even though this is a new website they do have older content that is worth looking at. You can even edit the obituary and ad your own story to it. If you view your account you can even see a list of all the obituaries that you left condolences on.
I like the site and I'm sure it will bring all of us useful information in the future.

UTAH VALLEY PAF USERS GROUP
The next regular, second-Saturday-of-the-month meeting of the Utah Valley PAF (Personal Ancestral File) Users Group will be on Saturday, 12 Jul 2008, from 9 am until noon in the LDS "Red" Chapel at 4000 North Timpview Drive (650 East), in Provo. The main presentation will be by Marlo Schuldt on DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY IN FAMILY HISTORY. He will discuss things to look for in buying a digital camera, including the lens and a digital card reader.
He will also discuss using your camera including fill-in flashes in the shade, candid photos, creating natural frames, getting clear pictures, panoramas, optical vs digital zoom, indexing your photos with GPS coordinates, getting in the picture yourself, shooting both stills and video with your digital camera, and using your camera to photograph documents that are too big to scan.
Marlo Schuldt is President of LifeStory Productions, Inc., an Orem, Utah based company that develops family history software and provides assistance to individuals desiring to gather, prepare, print and share family history. He earned both BS and MS degrees from Brigham Young University in Communications. Mr. Schuldt is married with five children and 12 grandchildren and recently received a patent on Heritage Collector Software - see http://heritagecollector.com/ .
Following the main presentation there will be several classes taught concerning technology and family history. As usual, there will be something for everyone at all levels of expertise. The classes currently scheduled for this meeting are the following:
