The Family History Library Hosts Events in March.
 
SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH Genealogists and family history enthusiasts looking for help with research in the Netherlands will be interested in classes held at the Family History Library in March. A free Netherlands Research Series will be held on Saturday, March 17, at the Family History Library. The classes will include:

9:00 a.m.    “Dutch Research on the Internet”

10:00 a.m.  “Using Dutch Civil Registration Records”

11:00 a.m.  “Dutch Church Records”

To view the class schedule online, go to www.familysearch.org.  Classes will be held in the B1 classroom on the first lower level of the Family History Library.  The library is located west of Temple Square on West Temple between North Temple and South Temple Streets in downtown Salt Lake City.  On Saturdays, parking is free to library patrons and is located behind the Church History Museum.  To register for these free classes, send an email to FHLClassReg@familysearch.org or call 1-801-240-4950.

10:00 a.m.  “Census and Civil Registration”

11:00 a.m.  “Church Records”

12:00 p.m.  “Practice Time”

1:15 p.m.    “Court Records:  Probate, Civil and Criminal”

The Utah Genealogical Association Announces the South Davis Family History Fair

NOW OPEN TO ALL AREAS AND PEOPLE WHO WOULD LIKE TO ATTEND!!

Registration is now open for the South Davis Family History Fair. The fair will include 122 classes on many aspects of Family History from beginning to advanced levels.

Well-known presenters will teach on all areas of research strategies for both international and US research.  Additional classes include how to write personal histories, create personal databases, experience new technology and learn how to organize documents and pictures.  We will offer 4 computer labs on PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, Ancestry.com and New Family Search.  A group of exceptional genealogists will be available to help attendees one-on-one with their challenges and brick walls.

Lisa Louise Cook will open our general session on Friday evening with an interactive game titled “The Family History Great Race.”  This session is free to all who would like to attend.

Karen Clifford will kick off Saturday morning with the keynote speech, “Uniting Generations: The Changing Face of Family History Research.”  As a special treat, Tom Underhill will entertain during the lunch hour with his lecture on “The Library is Burning Down!!
