Family Discovery Day at RootsTech 2015

Free and Fun Family History Event with Inspiring Speakers, Interactive Activities, and Special Guest Performers

You’re invited to join us again for Family Discovery Day at RootsTech, happening Saturday, February 14, 2015, at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. The schedule officially starts at 1:00 p.m.with Elder Andersen and others, but all are welcome to join us starting at10:00 a.m. to experience interactive activities in the expo hall.

Family Discovery Day at RootsTech is FREE for all LDS families and members and will provide opportunities to learn how to find family names, prepare and take those names to the temple, and share experiences with family and friends.

At Family Discovery Day, you will experience:
  • Inspiring messages from General Authorities, Church leaders, and popular LDS speakers, including Elder Quentin L. Cook and Elder Neil L. Andersen from the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, Young Women General President Bonnie L. OscarsonNoelle Pikus Pace,Al Fox Carraway, and many more (the opening session starts at1:00 p.m.).
  • A chance to meet the cast of Studio C from BYUtv and to watch them live at the RootsTech closing event with a special guest performer to be announced soon (5:15 p.m.).
  • A special leadership training session for all church leaders including those with family history callings, with Elder L. Whitney Clayton,Elder Allan F. Packer, and Elder Kent F. Richards (11:00 a.m.).
  • Interactive activities in the expo hall where families and friends can create a visual family tree, call grandma and record an interview, and scan photos to share with family.
  • A selection of classes designed to teach you how to discover family names, prepare them for temple blessings, and teach others how to get started on building connections with their own families.
Family Discovery Day at RootsTech is the perfect place to discover and share family connections through technology. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced family historian, Family Discovery Day at RootsTech has something for everyone.

Family Discovery Day Registration:
Registration for Family Discovery Day at RootsTech is quick and simple. With a valid email address, create a username and password through the RootsTech registration portal, and on Step 3, select Family Discovery Dayas your pass option and provide a count of family or group members that will attend. Everyone is invited ages 8 and up.
